Alternative to bcp ?

After using the remarkable easy OpenBase import/export tool and the more
complex but at least working oracle imp/exp tools, I am still completely
baffled by bcp. This tool seems to do nothing right, no matter how I try to
circumvent its limitations, there is sure to crop up a new one. Just off the
top of my head:o no support for quoted strings/escape mechanism in strings.
Using the -c option with freestyle text is futile...o apparent inability to
produce correct format files for fixed string formats. Interactively it
ignores my field sizeso confusing non-helpful error messages akin to Atari
Basic "Syntax Error"o archaic column, filefield mapping using numbers instead
of column nameso cores occasionally, leaving no error outputHow do you more
experienced Sybase users get by ? Do you write your own importers ? Is there
another tool I overlooked ?Questions from a stumped developer - i am no
