When trying to ADD/UPDATE or DELETE a record on a PostgreSQL database
version 7.3.?, one can get an 80004005 error.

PostgreSQL is reporting a FAIL when one of these operations are requested.

What I have found so far is that when a foreign interface attempts to
execute a record modification PostgreSQL is trying to use a tmp directory to
make the changes.

It appears that there is NO tmp directory in any enviroenment variable in
the installed directory. I read at sun.com that one should do a soft link
from the *nix /tmp to the installed directory.

Being a real 'Lightweight', does the above observations have any merit?
