It's much simpler to use this solution than the regular version. With the regular version, you have to do an add-on for everything. If you want to monitor a database, you have to buy an add-on for the application. If you want to monitor a firewall, you need a license for firewalls.

There can be add-ons involved. Add-ons depends on the license of OpManager. If you have OpManager Plus, you have very few add-ons. If you have OpManager Enterprise, you need an add-on for everything you want to monitor, from database, application, servers, VM host, et cetera.

The price of the license is great. It has posed itself on a very aggressive pricing scale. So I think the pricing is good and in line with the kind of service it is providing, and if they keep it like this, they're going to take over the market. I rate it a five out of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive.

The licenses for this product depend on the number of devices you want to implement it on within your infrastructure. For example, if we want to monitor applications and IP staff, they will count how many applications we wish to monitor. The prices are then driven by the category of asset, such as network devices, operating systems, etc.

After you purchase a license from SolarWinds, activate the Patch Manager license using the SolarWinds Licensing application located within the Windows Start menu. If you need to purchase a license, click the Customer Portal link in the Activate Patch Manager window.

To manage your Patch Manager license, you can use the SolarWinds License Manager also located within the Windows Start menu. This application includes a dashboard that displays the license status and corresponding maintenance expiration date for all product licenses installed on the Primary Application Server. When your Patch Manager license expires, you can click an action link in the application to renew or upgrade your license.

SolarWinds License Manager is a free tool that manages the Patch Manager product license on the Primary Application Server. This application allows you to activate your license using an online or offline connection.

The utility displays your current license state and provides executable action links to upgrade or activate your product licenses. You can also move your product licenses between servers without contacting SolarWinds Customer Service.

In addition to its core function as the primary point of contact for users, an IT service desk also plays an active role in capturing change requests, managing software licenses, assisting with problem management, and maintaining third-party support contracts.

SolarWinds Service Desk also offers asset management features, making it a suitable ManageEngine Desktop Central alternative. Service Desk helps you consolidate your assets with a unified IT asset management dashboard. With Service Desk API technology, you can manage your assets, help desk tickets, and software license updates easily. You can visualize the full asset lifecycle, helping you identify areas where you can reduce asset costs. Service Desk asset management capabilities are highly automated, letting you automate asset discovery and risk detection. You can access a 30-day free trial of SolarWinds Service Desk here.

All these tools are available as standalone products that can be purchased and installed separately. Combination options are also available. For example, you can get OpManager + NFA add-on + NCM add-on. Finally, you can get all these tools combined into one product known as ManageEngine OpManager Plus. For example, OpManager Plus 50 Pack includes license for 50 devices monitoring, 15 interfaces NFA add-on, 15 devices NCM add-on, 1 Firewall add-on, 250 IPs and 250 switch ports add-on. For this review, we will be looking at OpManager, starting with the installation of the software, followed by the discovery of devices in our lab environment, and then look at the different features of the solution in detail. Note: As much as possible, screenshots in this review will be from both our own installation and setup. In cases where we need to show features that are not available in our lab environment (e.g. due to a limited number of devices), we will take screenshots from the online demo of the product.

"License options depend on the number of devices to be monitored. The license is inclusive of all the interfaces, nodes or sensors in the device. A device can have any number of interfaces, elements or sensors, unlike our competitors."

When purchasing an IT management solution from ManageEngine, ITR Technology offers the end user two types of license options, Subscription and Perpetual. It is important to distinguish between the two. The Subscription license model is an annual license that will expire if not renewed in time. On Subscription renewals it is important to note that the ManageEngine EULA (End-user License Agreement) states that subscription licenses need to be renewed 10 days prior to expiry of the license in order to continue using the Licensed Software.

The Perpetual license model is an outright purchase of the product and allows the end user to use the software indefinitely. Additions to your license will only be issued if the Annual Maintenance and Support (AMS) is valid. Further, the AMS agreement must be in line with the details corresponding with the license.

Desktop Central: Desktop Central is integrated desktop and mobile device management software that helps technicians manage servers, laptops, desktops, smartphones, and tablets from a central location. It automates routine jobs like patch installation, software distribution, IT asset and software license management, and remote control of desktops.

Licensing doesn't get any simpler: it's based purely on monitored devices, regardless of the number of interfaces, sensors or elements each one has. The Essentials version is great value too, with prices starting at only 1,850 for a 50 device license pack.

OpManager also stands out for its advanced virtualization monitoring. A standard license includes VMware, Hyper-V and XenServer support - something many other vendors only offer as an optional, paid-for feature.

We start using the trial version to monitor a small network and see what was causing network interruptions, with opmanager we were able to see all the network flow and determine what the real cause was. After this, we starting to deploy the free version in others clients with small networks and by doing that, we gained a new perspective of this networks.

I have used Manage Engine IT360, software development cannot be predicted, so when calculating the annual budget, the price of software updates is much more expensive because the price of the license changes the functionality needed
