Oracle YOUR Competitor

Oracle is most certainly NOT my competitor. My company develops
applications which clients buy because of the products ability to
assist them in running their businesses. While they may ask what
the underlying database is, this is generaly to assure themselves
that: A) the product is reputable and the organization which sells
it is going to be around awhile. Or B) the product is scaleable to
an extent that it can handle the projected future number of users
which their organization requires.

Functionality matters, the underlying database is a black box. If
I can show a prospective client 100 of our other customers in
similar industries all of whome are doing things the prospect has
only dreamed of doing and doing it with less overhead they wont care
if the underlying database is <obscure Prime Reference> Midas+
</obscure Prime reference>
