Some of our PC users want to access our Sybase Databases
using Paradox (with SQL Link). Everything works OK, except
Paradox does not seem to recognize the Sybase numeric datatype;
it just ignores it. This is a problem, since these are the
fields that they want to join on, so they must use sql rather
that the Paradox Query interface to access the database.
Since they aren't familiar with sql or Sybase, this is a problem!
Is there any way around this? Any chance of a future version
of Paradox recognizing the numeric datatype?

It all depends on what kind of "number" you're referring to in SYBASE. If
SYBASE is using an internal key dataType then you need to link Pdox to it
using a longInteger. Pdox SQL 4.5 brings everything across as a NUMBER,
whereas Pdox 5.0 acknowledges Long (I) and Short Integers (S)

Borland is working on a Sybase System 10 specific SQL Link. I am not
sure when it will be availible.
