What to do.... Please Urgent
/Thomas
To solve your problem you need to
1) Change the Block Size
2) Create a new table (remember the Borrow option)
3) Add data from the old to the new table (remember the Add utility
(Tools, Utilities, Add))
A table consists of up to 65,535 (but no more) "blocks" which are some
multiple of 2K in size. There is an integral number of records per
block. Increasing the block-size will fix the problem. Here's how:
(1) Close down Paradox.
(2) In the BDE Configuration utility, change the default block-size.
(3) In Paradox again, create a new table with the same structure as the
old one; restructure (oddly enough...) won't do.
(4) Add records from the old table to the new one.
Hmm... you know, Borland readers, we all really -do- wish that
restructure would allow the block size to be changed, or that it would
use the current default block-size if it is larger than what was there
before. It's, well, "kinda lame" that restructure won't do the trick.
