Using Oracle Forms 4.5 for Windows, I am trying to use a DateTime Field with
the format mask

DD-MM-YY HH24:MI:SS

which makes a width of 17. However, forms accepts only a field width of 9.
Otherwise, an error

"FRM-30045 Query length of item must be 0 (default) or
greater than actual length"

occurs. Using nothing, 0, or an arbitrarily large number won't work :-(

Has anyone any suggestions how to solve this problem?

Change the query length property of the item to 17 or 0. The default is not
set to zero in any of the forms that I have created, so I think the message is
bogus. However the query length must always be greater than or equal to the
item length.

Go the Property called the Query Lenght and make it also 17, this will
solve your problem.

Note :- Always the querylength should be <= maxlength.

Hope this helps!!

n'abend Herr Doerfler
