Does anyone know of how to suppress the "Please acknowledge message. ( Ok )"
occuring on the bottom line. Users find this annoying when it keeps occuring for
Oracle informative messages such as "At first record.", etc. Forms 2.3 did not
seem to act in this way.

I know that raising the message_level to above 5 would suppress these
informative messages and by implication cut down on the number of "Please
acknowledge message. ( Ok)" messages, however I do not want to lose some of
the useful informative messages such as "Transaction complete -- 1 records posted
and committed." which are also at a message level of 5.

Thus is there any simple way of suppressing the "Please acknowledge
message. ( Ok)", thus allowing messages to overwrite each other at will on
the status line without the need for user intervention ?

Here we go again,
If u have Steven Muench's Book, then look up page C-28 of the Appendix which
answers the question u posed. However for the benefit of the net, i am posting
it.
Suppose there are two messages that are to be displayed for the same processing event, then SQL*Forms makes sure that the user sees all the message and that
is why the 'Please Acknowledge message (OK) Occurs. Lets assume that this
feature were not there then the user would never see the first message because
the message would disappear in a jiffy and the user would see only the second.
Now the workaround:
I do it this way. I design the messages in such a way that only one message
occurs for one processing event.
However if u still want to do this i.e u want two messages within one
processing event Steven Muench books suggest the use of a pop-up page
over the message line so that there is no buffering of messages.
One more suggestions:Get this book.
Oracle Forms Developer's Companion:Yang,Muench,Adams.Maverick publishers.
ISBN: 0-9637526-5-0. Hope this helps.
