There are 4 exams for Oracle certification. These do not include Oracle 8
features. You may take 1 additional Oracle 8 'upgrade' exam afterwards. You
will then be Oracle 7 and Oracle 8 certified.

No.

Oracle press have just released a book called Oracle DBA Certification. It's
expensive, but very much worth a look. It has a test CD with 450 questions
at the back. Check it out to answer many of your queries on certification.

Each test is for a particular competency. The test questions are formulated
from the Oracle Education documentation provided for each class that covers
that particular competentcy. You would be wise to find someone who has taken
a class (ie backup & recovery, tuning, etc) and has the documentation from
the class. In addition, there is a sample test that can be purchased that is
quite helpful. Good luck.
