When I run the test.fmx form it works find, but when I run form MIKE which I
generated from Designer 6i, I get FRM-40039: Cannot attach library Ofgcall
while opening form MIKE.

Developer and designer are on my Win98 box and Oracle 8i and forms server
are running on an NT box. The message is comming from the NT Forms Server.

Why is the Forms run-time looking for a module that is part of the
development environment?

thanks,
Mike

I just wanted to add that I discovered that OFGCALL is an "attached library"
in the FORM
that does calendar procedures. But still, my question remains the same ---
why
are these not available on forms-server machine ... did I botch the install?

The problem must be with the forms runtime PATH variable(s) in the registry.
You have to check the library search path (Under Forms 5.0 this is the
FORMS50_PATH string value under the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oracle"
registry key. This Ofgcall.pll (or .plx) has to be in a folder which is
listed in FORMS50_PATH.

If you use an other version of forms runtime (or server), the path
variable's name will be different.

Not sure about Forms 6i, but assuming it's like Forms 6, did you choose "yes"
to the "remove library?" question when attaching the library? If not, that
might be your issue - try detaching the library in the developer and the attach
it again and say "yes" when prompted if you want to remove the path.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I guess that i should have mentioned that "Ofgcall" is not on the
"forms-server"
machine. I did a FIND, and it is not on the disk anywhere.

I am thinking that there must be some things from the Designer install CD
that
need to be installed on the server machine since "Ofgcall" is a module that
comes with Designer (I think).

thanks again,
Mike

In this case - as you has written - it must be on the Designer CD. Maybe it
can be located only in uncompiled form (the .PLL format is enough for
Designer to generate). If you can locate it on the Designer machine (or on
the CD), you can simply compile it into .PLX (I don't suggest using .PLL-s
in the runtime environment, just .PLXs).
