Just encountered the following error in the Oracle8.1.6 suddenly.

ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [15851], [8], [8], [1], [2], [],
[], []

According to OTN, I must report this error to Oracle Customer Support as it
is an internal error.

I need a quick fix for this error. Hope someone can help me out.

Adrian

In my experience there is no quick fix for ORA-00600 errors. They are the
equivalent of a core dump. You might be able to decipher the alert log and
trace files, but you are probably better off opening a TAR with Oracle.

It is right in general, but sometimes is possible to rewrite SQL statement
and avoid such error. For example, in 8.0.5 hash outer joins often caused
ora-600, so changing execution plan may be helpful.

As the OTN page states, you need to contact Support. This is an internal error
and there probably is nothing that you can do to fix it.
