That would be Google. Not a person there, just some automated stuff. Oh,
and this is not a Google Group, they just provide an interface and
pretend that it is.

See above. But if you are "joined" at the moment, you should be able to
turn emails off in "My membership settings".

I think anyone who cares already knows. And there's pretty much nothing
here now except recruiter spam anyway. An unknown number of people still
look at the group, probably just out of habit.
And the "Google Group" interface is the source of almost all of the spam
of any sort.
As this is not a normal Google Group, it has no owner or manager (as a
Google Group) except Google themselves.
This is a Usenet News Group meaning that, among other things, there is
no "owner", and no central server.
