It depends ... how much data do you have to migrate? How much time
available to do the migration?

Moved some pretty big things pretty quickly using impdp ( the new
import ) with network connections between the databases
( parallel=x ) .

rman can convert tablespaces between various OS-es.

what is "limited"?? -- I have recently had to restore a 1.3TB db and
did so in < 2.5hrs.
