Oracle XE is a smaller version of Oracle 10g Database. Basically
designed as a database for embedded systems and for ISVs (Independent
Software Vendors). Its 100% FREE to download and distribute.


Oracle XE support single Instance with database size upto 4GB. Can
support upto 1GB of RAM. If you install it on multi-processor
environment, only one processor would be utilized.

Better do it quick. According to the license agreement, it expires today:

"BETA TRIAL LICENSE: Oracle Corporation ("Oracle") grants to you a no-charge
trial license to use the pre-production beta version of the Oracle Database
Express Edition software, documentation and product training (the "Software")
provided to you by Oracle solely for evaluation purposes until January 31, 2006."

They slipped the release date until end of February and extended the
beta period and might have an early adopters release and are dealing
with obscure linii.

All I see is yet another java stack trace exception, something
increasing seen in more and more software from Oracle. Someone should
tell them what a try/catch block is for.
