Hi there ! Is there a comprehensive data modelling tool that can
convert logical data model into physical data model (database) of
your
choice (Oracle / SQL Server / DB2 etc). If yes than can this tool be
relied upon for re-engineering the physical database. If yes then
what
happens to the data that and how is the data managed during the
reengineering process.

Some of the developers I work with have used CA Erwin and had a good opinion of it.

Yes.

Yes.

You need to distinguish schema information and data. Modeling tools
deal with the schema information.
