Sigh... What version?

And no... no changes are required to the listener; why should it be?

What is required, depending on your version, is modification to the
PFILE/SPFILE. At a minimum:
aq_tm_processes=1
job_queue_processes=2

There is a complete AQ demo in Morgan's Library at www.psoug.org.

Because a listener has *nothing* to do with Advanced Queuing.
Completely different subject. The question suggests you are quite new
to Oracle.

Don't abuse those trying to help you.

The obligation is your to go to http://tahiti.oracle.com and
read the concepts and architecture documents.

When you buy a car do you expect the dealer to teach you how
to drive?

We are the local car club ... not your driving instructor.

Be careful not to bite the hand that feeds you. We are here because
we want to share our knowledge. But you need to be gracious and
appreciate that no one is obligated to do so.

Best wishes with your project.

Well, if answers are guality like this - I dont mind staying or asking
anything from this group - it basically means that beginners cannot ask
anything from this group - well, if that is what you're aiming at - I
promise not to disturb

Be my guest, stay away, and I am not sorry one bit to have
stepped on your adolescent toes.

It would have helped, if you started off with "I'm new
on this subject, so bear with me".

Not at all. But it is expected that people will try to help themselves.
So for example the following would be a good way to approach a question.
========================================================================
I have Oracle 10.2.0.1 running on RedHat Linux and I am trying to learn
AQ. I went to tahiti.oracle.com and found the following (provide link)
but when I try it it fails with an error message (ORA-01555 Snapshot
too old). Can someone please direct me to what this means and how to
resolve it.
========================================================================
What will get you a "please go away" response is something like this:

I am getting an error message when I try to run the create queue can
someone help me?
