It is not particularly clear what you mean by "the same database on
another machine". Are there two databases which are presumably the
same or are there two different machines talking to the same database?

at a minimum you should
- look up the error in the online documentation, and post the error
message, so as to avoid forcing others to look it up
- post the 4 digit Oracle version
- post the platform

Either the databases are not the same (hint: they may have different
database character sets), or the data you insert are different, or
the client configuration is different (e.g. client character set).
