it.
But when I try to run lsnrctl to start the listener I receive the
followinf error:

I hope someone can help me with it.
I installed oracle8i under the Directory OraHome1 and I installed OAS

Can anybody say me what I do wrong ?

What verion of redhat? What libc, what pthreads. I have installed 8i many
times and had no problems. You might have bad memory. Have you recompiled a
kernel and had it complete? That is a great test for your memory.

Try svrmgrl! If you get the same error you must install the following
RPMS

compat-binutils-5.2-2.9.1.0.23.1.i386.rpm
compat-egcs-5.2-1.0.3a.1.i386.rpm
compat-egcs-c++-5.2-1.0.3a.1.i386.rpm
compat-glibc-5.2-2.0.7.1.i386.rpm
compat-libs-5.2-2.i386.rpm

After that you have to run the glibcpatch.sh from Oracle.
Download glibcpatch.tgz and read the documentation. After proceeding it,
Oracle should run.

You can get your patch here:
http://technet.oracle.com/software/products/oracle8/software_index.htm

I did it for Oracle 8.0.5. Make sure that you don't need another patch
for 8i.
If 8i requires another patch I'm sure you get it from
http://technet.oracle.com too.
