Is it OK to use other sports in between?

Thanx.

In case I forgot to mention:
We use Oracle 7.3.4 on Solaris 2.6, 2.7 boxes

You are not restricted to the range 1521 to 1526
you can use any unused port.

Officially only 1521 is assigned to Oracle.
1575 is assigned to Oracle Names
1748 and 1754 to dbsnmp (aka Intelligent Agent)
1526 has been introduced to make it possible to run sqlnet v1 and sqlnet v2
at the same time.
Ports like this are assigned by a body called IANA. Without doubt, they will
have website somewhere.

Funny thing.. (www.iona.org).. 1521 and 1522 don't seem to 'belong' to
Oracle, but I figure any of the ports can be used if you know for sure
you're not usnig product that's assigned to it, b/c I would like to
have about 6 listeners running, and maybe more (2 for each database
listening of different network cards), or at least 3 :)
