When running the runInstaller script i get the following messages:

[oracle@pollp linux]$ ./runInstaller
The Java RunTime Environment was not found at (/bin/jre. Hence, the
Oracle Universal Installer cannot be run.
Please visit http://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.1.8 or
higher and try again.
: No such file or directory

I have installed the JRE (which should'nt be needed because oracle
uses it's own jre...

Any comments?

I'm getting the same message. How did you resolve this problem?

TIA,

Well, when i installed Oracle on lInux I had this problem.
Just look on when is your executable jre ( find / -name "jre*" -print )
Then make a symbolic link to where OUI is looking for the jre.

At home, it works.
