I am trying to connect from Oracle to MS Access using ODBC. Using the
Oracle ODBC Test Utility (Version 2.5.3.1.0) and selecting either a User
or System Data Source Name I can successfully connect to a MS Access
database.

However, doing the same from SQL+, Forms 6.0 or Reports 6.0 I receive
the following error message:
OCA-30017: error logging on to non-Oracle database
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function

In the connect box I type the user (admin), the password, and the
following connect string: ODBC:datasourcename

I have the following versions installed:
Windows 98
Oracle Database 8.0.5.1.0
OCA 6.0.5.29.0
SQL*Net Client 2.3.4.0.0
MS Access Driver 4.00.4403.02

Can someone shed some light on this. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much in advance.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I believe most Oracle tools use the
Oracle data dictionary when they login... (at least I'm sure SQL*plus
does). So trying to connect to another database doesn't seems to make
sense. If you want to develop for another database another development
tool is probably in order.
