Description: We need a Senior Oracle DBA experienced with RAC and Data Guard. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years experience in the area of database administration, and at least 7 years of overall IT experience. Rate: $DOE an hour Location: Chesterfield, MO (St. Louis) Estimated Duration: 6 months to a year this is exactly how the expected duration was described to us. Client for extended contracts much longer, especially if the consultant is really good. Job Description: Responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of production databases and data dictionaries in compliance with application specifications and company policies, standards and procedures. Manages and maintains all production and non-production Oracle databases. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 6 plus years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment Experience in Install, configure of database software and patches Experience in Oracle database upgrades from 9i, 10g to 11gR2 Experience in SQL, Oracle PL/SQL tuning and analyze database performance issues and recommend solutions Experience in High Availability i.e. RAC (RAC One Node) and Data Guard Experience in ASM, OEM grid Control, partitioning, SQL*Loader ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Maintain and Support Oracle Databases in a 24x7x365 production environment on Solaris and Linux . Backups/recovery, database refresh using RMAN and datapump (expdp/impdp). Migrate databases from Solaris to Linux Nice to have: Experience in MySQL installation, backup/recovery, replication and clustering on a Linux platform
