Description: Our client is currently seeking a SR. ORACLE PROGRAMMER / ANALYST. in the Milwaukee, Wi area. Sr. Oracle Program m er / Analyst   BASIC FUNCTIONS The Sr. Programmer / Analyst is responsible for performing analysis, modification, and daily support of the Oracle E-Business Suite and other non-Oracle applications that is of a high level of complexity and business impact under minimal supervision.  This position will work closely with Information Technology and business personnel to understand business requirements and ensure that developed and purchased applications properly function to meet business needs across the organization.  The Sr. Programmer / Analyst will consult with members of the business community at all levels to identify current operation procedures, clarify program objectives, interpret and evaluate business requirements and provide effective, efficient and innovative system and programming solutions in a fast paced team oriented environment.   With minimum supervision, the Sr. Programmer / Analystreviews, analyzes, and modifies application systems and programs, including designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and installing applications to support the organizations business information systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.  The Sr. Programmer / Analyst will develop program and system specifications of moderate to high levels of complexity to be acted upon personally or by others on the IT staff for program development.  Participates in on-call and after-hours application and end user support as required.  Works closely with senior IT personnel members to coordinate application integrity, security, and dependability for the operational and long term success of the companys Manufacturings IT and business objectives.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ·       Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other technical discipline ·       Eight years previous programmer and programmer/analyst experience working with end users in requirements gathering, analysis, and application design and development in a client server and/or web based environment. ·       Five years Oracle or similar relational database design and support experience ·       Four years experience with ERP systems ·       Experience working with integrated systems in a manufacturing environment ·       Microsoft Windows operating system experience and Office applications ·       Strong written and verbal communication skills   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ·       Eight years experience with the following as defined by job assignment: ·       Oracle Applications Development Framework or Microsoft Visual Studio development tools ·       Oracle, Progress, SQL-Server or similar RDBMS application development ·       Code Repository Version Control ·       TOAD, jDeveloper, SQL Developer, BI Publisher, and other similar tools ·       Five years experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment on Oracle E-Business Suite ·       Experience developing and / or supporting Business Intelligence reporting in an Oracle E-business Suite environment ·       Industry training on specific business and ERP modules in one or more functional areas such as Supply Chain Management , Financials, Order Management, HRIS, Procurement, Production Planning, etc.   MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES ·       Design and develop programs, subsystems, reports, end user layer tables, add/modify fields and setups, and develop and implement extensions of a moderate to high level of complexity and business impact ·       Utilize application based and vendor provided tools (e.g. APIs, PL/SQL, Reports, monitoring tools, etc.) for troubleshooting, research, data extraction, data conversion and importing, integrity checking, and validation ·       Analyze user requirements and system needs of moderate to high scope and complexity and develop documented system and program solutions and specifications with formal test and implementation plans ·       Participate in cross-functional teams and application development projects, providing technical expertise in information technology ·       Participates in or leads efforts to determine user requirements, design and develop system solutions ·       Participates in or leads efforts to evaluate, select and justify third party software, vendors and/or service providers ·       Lead development activities of moderate to high complexity and medium to large size to support team assignments and objectives ·       Guide and train new team members ·       Responsible for the design, development, implementation, testing, training and documentation of applications using approved development methodologies and tools  ·       Participate in the creation and maintenance of information technology system development standards, procedures, and guidelines  ·       Responsible for effective communication through progress reports, technical reports and technical/user documentation and formal presentation to teams and management  ·       Participate in or lead cross-functional business and system process improvement teams ·       Maintain awareness of new information technologies and techniques, project management tools, web based development tools and client/server applications, and apply to the benefit of the company or make recommendations in their use as appropriate ·       Function as a team member or  leader on specified projects  ·       Participate in or lead the evaluation, selection, installation and support software in a client server environment according to project definition and goals ·       Lead or participate in formal process improvement efforts ·       Provide day to day and on-call second tier end-user application support ·       Identify, design and participate in or lead projects associated with IT process and service delivery improvements   ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS ·       Reports to IT Business Applications Systems & Solutions Manager ·       Team associations:  Other IT staff members including programmers, analysts, DBAs, Operations and Service Desk team members, consultants, and third party service providers ·       Primary internal customers:  Management team, administrative employees, external customers, and shop floor employees ·       Works as a contributor to IT and business work groups ·       Actively participates in project activities ·       Contributes independently or as part of a team   POSITION CHALLENGES ·       Integration of custom and purchased software ·       Delivery of high quality systems that allow administrative and manufacturing processes to reliably and consistently function with minimal support from the IT department ·       Keeping focus on projects while providing tier-two support of end users
