Description: Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Oracle Database Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial clients in, Jersey City, NJ. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in setting database standards, will have worked on strategic database-orientated initiatives, and will ideally have an application development background. Most importantly, they will have an excellent understanding of how database technology can best be utilized to meet the needs of the business. Responsibilities: Although you will be an individual contributor, you will be expected to work with and coordinate other resources, often working across virtual cross-tower teams. You will also be expected to drive database agendas at the global perspective and influence and communicate across the organization. Engage with lines of businesses on a consultancy level, so a strong mix of hard and soft skills is essential. Contribute to one or more of the initiatives the Database Engineering team is currently working on: Develop Standard Database Builds for Oracle Develop HA/DR Best Practices for Critical Applications Database Monitoring Standards Database Security Standards Required: Oracle SQL Unix Shell Scripting SGA is a Certified Womans Business Enterprise (WBE) celebrating over thirty years of service to our national client base.
