Description: CSS Tec's client in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Oracle DBA to join their team on a contract to hire basis.



A position in the Information Systems department is available in the Database Administration group, for an experienced Database Administrator. Responsibilities include performance of Database Administration and Database design and development functions for an expanding suite of Oracle-based applications, with an emphasis on providing Oracle DBA support for an Enterprise Data Warehouse as well as transactional clinical application databases hosted on HP-UX Itanium servers. These functions include RDBMS software installation, maintenance, and support; creation and modification of database storage structures and objects; managing user access to databases; monitoring and optimizing database performance and availability; planning and execution of recovery schemes; technical support for development activities, including logical and physical database design and development of database stored procedures.



Requirements include a minimum of 6 years Oracle database design, development and administration experience. Knowledge of Unix operating systems is required; experience in implementing Oracle Real Application Clusters and Data Guard standby databases on HP-UX is preferred, along with experience using Oracle Recovery Manager and Tivoli Storage Manager for Databases. Exposure to PeopleSoft and ColdFusion web applications is advantageous. Experience with Oracle 11g is key, we're running a mix of 10g and 11g, with upgrades to 11g in progress.

An Associates degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent is required; bachelor's degree is preferred.
