I'm looking for information (articles, white papers, ...) about this
issues and how the data is stored.
I've read the olapreport site, but I need more advanced information.
Thanks in advance. Javier.

MS Plato (significant $$$ development investment, multi-dimensional model
with hybrid OLAP)
Oracle Express (bought from IRI, multi-dimensional model with hybrid OLAP)
Arbor Essbase (significant $$$ development investment, multi-dimensional
model, close links to IBM)
Draw your own conclusions! If the relational vendors come up with a better
solution than multi-dimensional then
you'll soon hear about it when they get bought out
In specific answer to Javier's question (and my experience of only the
Express model): Express uses offset indexing. Basically a massively indexed
database explaining why response to queries is much faster than relational.
Improvements are also made by persistent status (accessing data linked
to/dimensioned by the previous "query").
What sort of advanced information do you require and why? Please respond
directly for this information if you need it.
best regards
