General Statement of Duties
Perform database administration functions. Support ongoing customer
requirements for the enterprise. Responsible for purchasing hardware,
supporting specialized tools, and supporting custom communications
configuration.
Example of Duties:
Optimization and performance tuning of Microsoft SQL Server;
perform routine database maintenance activities such as index building,
information security, locking conflicts, query optimization, etc.
Implement and maintain a backup strategy to provide effective disaster
recovery.
Evaluate new technology as it applies to the enterprise network
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: B.S. in Computer Science or B.S in a related field with heavy
computer experience
Experience:
· Direct experience managing corporate network enterprises
· Extensive DBA experience with MS SQL Server
· Experience with Microsoft Exchange/Outlook
·· Experience with Visual Basic, C++, and SQL
· Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
· Ability to exercise innovative and sound judgment, organize and
prioritize multiple tasks, and to work effectively independently
· The ability to work remotely and effectively interface with other
employees in the enterprise both verbally and electronically.
