add file to database on different server

The server on which SQL-Server is is full.
Now we'd like to extend the database on a 2-nd physical server.
Now we'd like to extend the database on a 2-nd physical server.
We tried: ALTER DATABASE <dbname> ADD FILE <filespec>
But <filespec> has to be on the same server.
Is there a way to do this?
