I was thinking abt linked servers deals only with multiple servers
physically inter-connected.
Now i come accross that we can link our non-sqlserver databases also.
It is thru the E.manager by
Security->linked servers -> Other databases -> access(jet 7.0).mdb
if it is ok , all the tables under that given db will be listed , but
is not opening via E.M.
Accessing the linked servers.
----------------------------------
select * from raghu...tablename.
raghu is the linked server name.
It works nice. Even u can give the rights also.Hope this useful to the
beginners.
With thanks.
Where do you find "Security" ? right-clicking on something, or in a menu
somewhere ?

It's in the default left pane of enterprise manager, once you have a
server selected, under replication. Perhaps you don't see it if you
aren't an admin?

Hi,
Hills
For working with linked servers , You replied like , one can not see
the login rights etc if the particular user is not in the admin role
in the Enter prise manager regarding the replication.
Since the E.Manager is a open book so that any one can access any
database , Do you explain me When the sql server E.manager aks the
user's login and password .
With thanks
