It was my intention to use IDC for a database project I'm working on until I
started looking into ASP and saw that a number of people use them in here.

Are there any signifcant advantages to using ASP over IDC?

I've not used ASP a great deal yet, but I think you should view
ASP as a pretty complete WWW server programming language.
In comparison, IDC/HTX lack much of the programming
constructs you're likely to need when implementing WWW
applications. For example, in IDC/HTX you're not able to
generate your SQL statements dynamically and program flow
is restricted to single sequential IFTHENELSE blocks. I think
ASP looks promising, although I'm not to sure about the
performance of the ADODB software. I'm expecting to gain
more experience with ASP in the coming months so I'm happy
to discuss this further if you want.
