I have a unreferenced message error (20035) or 416 : the message concerns
the length of the temporary table line size.
Is it possible to change the default size on tempdb ?
Thank you for help

I looked up error 416 in sysmessages: "Create of work table failed
because the row size would be %d. This exceeds the maximum allowable size
of a row in a table, %ld."

A temp table row may not exceed 1962 bytes, just like a regular table. If
you weren't creating a temp table explicitly with create table, some
other operation may have tried to create one: an order by does this
sometimes, a group by clause always. Try selecting less columns in your
query, or if the query has an order by, indexing the ordered column(s).

It is worth mentioning, this will change in SQL 7.0 to 8k.
