Hi !

How can I add the "About Microsoft Access" in the "Help Menu" using
customize menu bar ? I tried dragging-in the "Help" from the "Built-in
Menus" from the "Commands" tab of customize toolbars and then deleting all
options except the "About Microsoft Access", but it also deletes the
"actual" "Help" options.

Thanks in advance,
Evelyn

Create a new menu. In the Customize dialog, go to Commands tab, scroll down
to New Menu, and drag the "New Menu" item from the right listbox onto newly
created menu. Now, while keeping the Customize dialog open, go to the real
Access Help menu at the top, hold the Control key on the keyboard, and drag
the "About ..." menu item onto your new menu.

Does this delete the "About MS Access" from the main help menu?

I'm not sure I understand the question, but I think Evelyn may have lost that
button from her help drop down in the main menu; if so, this may help:

Sub temp()
With CommandBars("Menu Bar").Controls("Help").Controls
.Add , 927
With .Item(.Count)
.Caption = "&About Microsoft Access"
.BeginGroup = True
.Style = 2
End With
End With
End Sub

Lyle, Dimitri's suggestion works without deleting the About menu item.
Using the control key was a new and very useful tidbit for me - I
normally used your approach except after moving something like the About
item (I usually do this with the compact menu item), I would simply go
to the menu/toolbar properties and click reset.

I didn't pick up the Control Key instruction. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried your method, however, when I ran the program (as in user view), the
"About Microsoft Access" was not there. It's just appear as a blank box when
I clicked the "Help" menu.

Hi,

Thanks once again !

I think I know the answer ! At the "Startup" option in the "Tools" menu, the
"Allow Full Menus" has to be ticked in order for the "About MS Access" to be
shown.
