I am successfully using the following code to
search by GUID. Are their any special coditions
I should be aware of ?

Adapted from Carol Chipman posting
By Douglas M. Reisman

DBGuidFld = Forms!frmMerge.RecordsetClone.PlacementData4
strGUID = StringFromGUID(RecOld.Fields(DBGuidFld))

RecNew.FindFirst "StringFromGUID(" & DBGuidFld & ") = " & strGUID
If Not RecNew.NoMatch Then
' Use Update method, Record Found
else
' Use Append method, Record not found
End If

The issue with this approach is that while you will usually have an index on the GUID field, the index cannot be used. Because of the function call in the expression the engine will most likely have to do a full table scan.
