Each version has a version and build number. These numbers are
available on MS' KnowledgeBase web-site. For example Access XP numbers
can be obtained by going to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307841 and
scroll down to "How to obtain more information about the latest Office
XP service pack." Each SP has a link to a page with more info. On that
page look for a heading like "How to determine whether the update is
installed." Beneath it will be the version/build numbers for the SP.
You can get the version/build numbers from your version of Access using
VBA like this:
With Application
GetVersion = .Version & " " & .Build
End With

If you don't mind to use an additional tool you may check out this one:
http://www.moss-soft.de/public/AccessVersInfo.zip
It not only tells you which service pack is installed but in case of A2003 also
which hotfixes have been applied.
