Why do hidden controls on a form display themselves in datasheet view?

Often it is the ID field that I hide because mostly the user doesn't
need the ID of the record.

I am thinking to write code that checks the view of the form and if a
record is not visible then hide the column in datasheet view. I'll see
how that goes.

Hi Mat,

I never use forms in datasheet view, because until now I never needed
it.
But I like to learn about it.
Are there special reasons to use the datasheet view, or is it just the
look alike of a plain table, or Excel sheet?
