Hi,

Does anyone have the code, or even better, can I download an example
database which allows Drag & Drop commands.

I've been using The Access Web for the past year which is absolutely
brilliant, but I can't get this particular code to work.

Cheers

Graeme

>Hi,

The OLEDragDrop in a control works fine. But I remember coming across,
repeatedly, a complaint by someone about A97, that it didn't expose
enough properties, and didn't implement drag/drop _between_ controls
very well. But the OLE stuff is available for various controls, as you
can see in the 'F2' browser in Access.

Graeme,

There are some third-party tools that may help:

A shareware version of Drag-N-Dropper for MS Access is available at this web
site: http://www.peterssoftware.com/dd.htm

Stephen Lebans has an example of a FieldList control that supports drag and
drop: http://www.lebans.com/vb_listbox.htm

The Forms Sample database provided by Microsoft has an example called
"Simulating Drag-And-Drop Capabilities". You can download the sample
database here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;175066

Hope this helps,

Cheers Allen

I'm suprised its you of all people to get back to me. I've seen loads
of your stuff all over the internet.

The only thing is though..
I've tried what you said, but thats just a kind of fake drag and drop,
just plopping items from one box to another.

What I need is a true Drag & Drop, where a user can drag files from
explorer straight into an access form - to simplify importing files

The nearest thing I can find is on The Access Web. After downloading
their sample API code, AddressOf, and vba332.dll, it still doens't
seem to work. I can't force it to look in the dll. It still says it
cant find it, even though it should... its in the system folder.

It would be handy to have a simple mdb file. Nice and portable so
people can use it when they need it? When I find one, and finally get
it working, I'll distribute it myself for other. It would be so handy
for people to have.

Cheers

Graham,

Tomorrow, I'll email you a copy of an Access 97 version I just got
working today (based on the Access Web stuff). I got it working with
version 3.0.7019 of the VBA322.DLL running on NT 4.0 (in case that
makes the slightest difference).

Repeating my call yesterday though, (in:
http://groups.google.com/groups?dq=&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=56db38fe.0303250332.74785419%40posting.google.com)

If anyone has this code working in Access 2000, please let me know.

I will supply beer if you can get to a bar in Auckland, New Zealand!

:-)
