Encoding e-mails from Access

I am running an Access system which sends automated
(DoCmd.SendObject) e-mail messages to clients via Outlook
Express, but one of the clients needs to receive messages
uuencoded *not* mime-encoded.

When I send messages manually (File|Send), it is uuencoding
them (the Outlook Tools|Options settings are all set this
way). However, when I send via VBA, it is still sending in
MIME.
This makes no sense to me - can anyone else shed any light?
