I would like to bundle the Access 2016 Runtime with my database as an executable where the user can just click the defaults and the Runtime will be installed and my database will be unzipped. MS used to have a wizard that allowed you to do that.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Never mind. Looks like they deprecated that ability. ah, well...

Well, they only dropped the “package” wizard. The general approach is you have users install the runtime, and then simply copy your application to that computer.

However, it likely you want an icon on the desktop, and the folder where you install (actually copy) your accDE application does need to be trusted. At one time I used a paid copy of WinZip which was quite nice. Users would click on the WinZip package and it would extract to a folder.

I would suggest you consider using some free “installer” package. All that installer will do is create a folder, place your application into that folder and perhaps create a shortcut on your desktop.

I have a sample inno script here that will create the shortcuts on your desktop. The sample does not set “trusted” but does set macro security to low which does eliminate the security prompts when launching your application:

So the above much explains how you can setup a deployable application with the runtime.
