My workplace has used DataEase for all their database needs. They want
me to create a database in Access 95.

It it possible to somehow convert DataEase info for use in Access?

Thanks!

Brian,

Use Dataease export tools to export the data to a dbf file. Then link to
the dbf files using Access. Alternatively, export the table to a text file
and import the data into an Access table.

Hi Brian,

Someone at my company walked me through the DataEase part, so here are
my notes on what I did. If you are familiar with DataEase, you'll
likely have no problem. Of course, the version of DataEase that we
have might be so out of date from the one that you are using that
these may make no sense.

Under DQL Advanced Processing, I created a procedure. The Query was
for a file and looked something like:

List records
;
firstfield;
secondfield;
etc;
lastfield.

The Print Style settings were set to destination: disk. I'm not sure
if I specified a delimiting character someplace, but a double-quote
was what I got after saving and running this procedure.

I then imported into Access, using a text delimiter of {None} and a
field separator of " (double quote symbol). I then imported it as a
text delimited file.

Good luck!

My workplace has used DataEase

Hello,

My company allways used Dataease, but I am in the process of re-writting
it in Access 97.
Access will create tables from data exported from Dataease, does a pretty
good job, but alas all the derivation formulas and lookups have to be
re-done.

Best of luck anyway.
