I'm designing a subform for an ACCESS database. It's very easy to use the
datasheet view, but the form would work much better if I could transpose the
rows and columns. That is, when entering data I'd like to have my rows (a few
existing records) be columns and my variables (normally in columns) be in each
row.

Does anyone know whether someone has designed such a routine, or whether there
is an easy solution to this?

Try using <Ctl-PageUp> and <Ctl-PageDown> in Form View.

Use the crosstab query by selecting the field which you want it ,to be a
column.
It is easy if you use the crosstab query wizard.

You can also create the form from that crosstab query. But Access not
allowed to run a subform from crosstab query because the length of column is
flexible.

But if you need that , just make new table from that query.

Hope this help
