Introductions...
My name is Jeremy Collins, and I work for a London based management
consultancy
called Marshgate Consulting. We specialise in people and their
communications,
but not IT contracting.

Background...
We are currently working for a (public sector) client to evaluate the
impact
of a proposed new system which will integrate/interface with their existing
Ingres based system. The supplier that developed their current system is
no longer available.

Question...
I am trying to draw up a list of UK-based software companies who
have experience in this kind of work (it really is large scale). Computer
Associates in the UK have not been much help, and so far I have only
made contact with one company willing and able to offer their services.

If you can recommend a company, or your company fits the bill, please
mail me on 10053...@compuserve.com. Our intention is to submit
a shortlist of capable suppliers to our clients in the near future.

TIA
Jeremy Collins

The title of this post seems to imply one has to be an
Ingres "heavy" to reply.

Jeremy,

You should contact Mike Prollins, who is the President of the Ingres
Users Association in the UK. He has many contacts with Ingres
experienced people over there.

Also if your project really is large scale, don't forget that using a
supplier from another country really doesn't add that much to the
cost, especially if you need very high level consulting.

Feel free to contact me if you want some contact names from North
America

I am that Ingres heavy. Those of you that have met me know the reason
for that joke.
