I'm trying to restrict ODBC users to have read only access to an
Informix 7.31 database. I can't get past the following error:

revoke delete on customer from rorobp

580: Cannot revoke permission.
111: ISAM error: no record found.

I tried this as user root and informix.

Is there a more generic/group way to create a read only group of
users? I would prefer if I could just configure the ODBC to do read
only if possible.

Thanks

Since there is no "REVOKE ... AS grantor" variant of the revoke
statement, only the actual person who granted (or was deemed to grant)
the privilege can revoke it.
You will need to find out which user gave rorobp permission to delete
records on the customer table. That user will then have to revoke the
privilege. And remember that several different people might have given
rorobp permission to do it, so you may have to get several people to
undo it.
