Database Problem - Blocked CKPT

Dear support,

I am struggling with the performance of my Informix database. Lately the =
database is always hanging and it's quite impossible for me to proceed =
with calls processing.=20
The following error is encountered: "Informix Dynamic Server ver 7.31 =
UC3 - on-line (CKPT REQ) - up 01:36:5 Blocked: CKPT".=20

When that problem occurs I will restart the server and the message will =
clear down but not for long before it comes back.

I appreciate if you can help me to resolve that problem.

Jesus. Don't shut the server down for a checkpoint. Your checkpoints
should be fairly quick, if they're not, you need tuning, not a reboot.

Post your onconfig please and the output from onstat -m.

Not sure how an "Informix Support" alias came to this newsgroup. My guess
(without knowing enough here) is that you have run out of logical log space.
Are you backing up your logical logs? Send me the output of an onstat -l
command.
