Is anyone out there using Online 7.1 on DEC Alpha OSF/1 3.2?

I have been having SEVERE problems with BLOBS.
I am trying to input images (gifs, jpegs, etc)
into a Online 7.1 server running OSF/1 3.2.
It doesn't seem to matter if I use the blobload
utility or dbload (after converting the files to hex).
The loads seem to go OK, but when I retrieve the
images.... 1/2 good-1/2 garbage.
Size doesn't seem to matter. I used the unload
and compared the dump to my hex'd original
but they don't match. Somewhere along the way
the images are getting corrupted but I can't tell
if it's on input or output.

Anybody got this to work correctly?

I have seen this error with Online V5.02 and 5.03 on Alpha.
When I made a backup and restore with "tbtape", my images where
1/2 good -1/2 corrupt. The bug was reported to INFORMIX and
fixed in V5.05:

We have a 30 Gb image-database on a Digital-server.
Since December 1994, we have been working to migrate our DEC
installation from Online V5.0X to Online V7.1. Until now it
has been an endless number of problems. Right now the most
important error is: ontape cannot restore!! if there is BLOB
data involved. This error was documented in January 95 on V7.1UC1.
We had a bug-fix (V7.1UC1X5), but it didnt fix the problem.
The bug is described in the V7.1UD1 release note (BUT - the bug
is still there).

Another "BLOB"-issue: dbimport will not import BLOB data! This
is what INFORMIX call: A known error? and they can fix it?
