DBSpace is disabled

Hello.
I've a big problem:
one DBSpace is disabled (chunk marked as Inconsistent), Informix ODS is
off-line and I dont have an archive.
I think exists an utility, that brings that inconsistent chunk On-Line.
May be some body can give me it . Operating system is AIX 4.2.1.0, Informix
ODS v.7.12

Call tech support and they can dial in and force the chunk and dbspace
online.

Hello,

if the disks are ok, please check it, you can transfer the chunks to
online-mode with the onspaces-command

onspaces -s spacename -p pathname -p offset -O

O: Online

I can't run onspaces command, because server is in off-line mode.
When i try to start the server, it shuts down and online.log has such
records:


08:29:05 Physical Recovery Started.
08:29:05 Physical Recovery Complete: 192 Pages Restored.
08:29:05 Logical Recovery Started.
08:29:33 Assert Failed: Buffer modified in inconsistent chunk.
08:29:33 Who: Session(5, informix@, 0, 5)

08:29:33 Results: Chunk 6 is being taken OFFLINE.
08:29:33 Action: Restore chunk from archive.

It´s seems that you have some logical logs in that dbspace. If so its not
possible to start a logical recovery from the last checkpoint.
Generaly it is not possible to bring the IDS online if one of the three
critical dbspaces is down.
a) root
b) logical logs
c) physical logs

I know that the informix-support has a tool to restart such a critical
dbspace. so I hope you have an Support-Contract.

Do you have a dbexport available ???

can u send out the output of onstat -d??? or can you do a dd to test ur
harddisk read/write successfully or not?

Hi All,

I have two databases running on two different machines A and B. I have
logged into machine A and wanted to connect to database@B. In machine A
sqlhosts file in $INFORMIXDIR/etc dir, I have made an entry for database
running on server B.

dbservername olsoctcp server-B sqlexec2

In machine B , I have made an entry in /etc/services for the service
sqlexec2:

sqlexec2 1529/tcp sqlexecd

And now when I try to connect from machine A, using isql db@dbservername ,
isql just opens up (without any errors), but not connected to the databases.

But the connection is happening for a different dbserver on server A from
server B.

I am new to Informix, and am badly in need of help.
