Hi. My shop is in the process of migrating from a variety of Informix
versions (4.10 on up) to more modern versions of the engines. All
end-user application development has moved (for the nonce) to
Powerbuilder. The decision was made, however, to not upgrade the 4GL
and I-SQL products that are used for simple day to day systems
maintenance tasks; they are simply too expensive to suit our needs.

What else are folks using for simple, knockoff screens that don't need
to be graphical? I am looking for low footprint, character based
tools that can do simple master-detail type screens, similar to
perform. I'm familiar with JYACC (and wasn't too impressed several
years ago; is it better today?), but that is about it.

Thanks,

David

Erm, they use Informix-4GL or Informix-Perform. :-)

Cheers,
