Hi

I get this error sometimes in one of my programs. Im not sure where there
error would be.

Date: 26/03/2004 Time: 11:47:34
FORMS statement error number -1207.
Converted value does not fit into the allotted space

From finderr -1207

A noncharacter value, after conversion to a character string, is too
long to fit in the buffer that was provided. If the conversion was
automatic, change the program to provide a larger host variable to
receive the string. If this action was an explicit call to conversion
function, pass a larger buffer.

The error has just started appearing in the program log after the program
has been running fine for over a year !!!

any ideas ?

Thanks

Maybe you've got a display field that has space for 4 digits, but some
of the values sometimes need 5 digits? Or N vs N+1 for any other
value of N?

Can be the data you are selecting into the record/data type is bigger,
remove whenever error continue or default error handler and then try to
simulate, the program should abort giving u line no and file name of
error part, then u can check what is the value being populated into the rec.

hope this helps
