Try to connect DB2 V8 to DB2 V7 with the Client software doesnt work

Hi,

i am trying on my Windows XP Prof. Maschine connect a DB2 Server with version 7,
which is installed remote on a Solaris Machine.

On my local machine is a DB2 V8 installed.

I can connect to a another DB2 with version 8 without any problems, but
if i try to connect a DB2 with version 7, i get followed error.

This Error happens if i try to cataloq this DB with the DB2 Client Software.

[IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/SUN] SQL0805N Paket "NULLID.SYSSH200"
nicht gefunden.(Not found) SQLSTATE=51002.

My Question is,
is it not possible cataloqize a Database with the Client Software which has the
version 8 and the remote machine has the version number 7.

Any hints are great.

...this command is usually necessary only for downlevel servers...
(v7 in this case)

I have run the command and get followed output,
there is some errors but now i can connect to
the remote db2 v7.

Maybe you can check the db2diag.log file and/or windows application event
viewer for more details.

Maybe you're missing utilities and cli packages. (just guessing here.)
db2 terminate
db2 CONNECT TO <dbname>
db2 BIND $DB2DIR\BND\@db2ubind.lst GRANT PUBLIC
db2 BIND $DB2DIR\BND\@db2cli.lst GRANT PUBLIC
db2 terminate

I'm not sure about db2schema.bnd on a v7 server.

Looks like those are required for v2 to v7 servers.
