We just brought up DB2 V7.2 FP5 on a Windows 2000 machine (moved from
a V5.2 Solaris system). We have a C program that runs on the server
and processes all the SQL from VB client Winsocks (so we don't have to
install DB2 client & ODBC driver on all our user PCs). Looking at the
Windows processes, it seems that db2syscs.exe is taking way too much
memory. It starts out small (6,624K) on a reboot, then keeps
increasing (now 498,508K). This is causing the system to be very
slow. The server has 654,880 KB ram and a 36 gig hard drive. This is
mainly a read only system and does not have very heavy usage. The
paging file size is set at 960 MB with max size 1920 (avail 13,299).
Do we need more memory? Do I need to change some DB2 config
parameter? Can anyone make any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
