Hi to all,

I'm using DB2 UD v7.2 on Win2000. I did an online backup of a db.
Restored the backup into a new database. Then did rollforward to end
of logs and complete. After completing this task, one of my tablespace
(SMS) is in restore pending state.

I did not cancel the Rollforward or anything like that.
Now I can't even drop the db.

Can anyone help me??

One of the likely cause is:
Somebody (you!) did a restore of that tbsp then a roll forward to a point in
time. This forces you to take a backup of that tblsp.
As your restored the whole db, when you rooled it forward it encountered the
rollforward to a PIT and put the tblspc. inaccessible.
Restore that tblsp. backup image and roll it forward.
Your recovery history file should show you for that tblsp. when the backup,
restore, roll forward, new backup were done.
If nobody did that kind of activity, then it could be that the tblsp. was
backed in the image in the restore pending case. Could be due to a load
that was terminated and then the backup happened before fixing the results
of load terminate.
HTH, Pierre.

Ali,
From the information you describe here, it is hard to find the reason. I
think you can check db2diag.log to see if there is any help information.
In which case a tablespace will be in restore pending state? I think
Pierre already cover this.
